Foster Care
Foster care is a vital part of every community. Children placed into the foster care system have been removed from the homes of their biological families due to neglect, abandonment and/or abuse. Foster children rely on the constant support of their foster parents for assistance with everyday activities such as education, after school activities and creating healthy relationships. Foster Parents provide them with the emotional and mental support necessary to promote healing from the circumstances which brought them into foster care as well as helping them adjust to their new home environment; these are only a few of the valuable ways foster parents help children. Together, the impact we make on the lives of foster children today, offers them the opportunity to become successful adults in the future.

At Children First, we certify families who will provide a loving and stable home for a foster child.
Foster parents work cooperatively with county social workers and other organizations under the direct supervision of Children First social workers and administration to follow the directives of the Court. These directives may consist of the following:
- Reunification with biological parents
- Transition into the home of a relative or close family member
- Guardianship
- Adoption
